The Gokyo Lakes area at the head of Dudh Koshi valley is no less spectacular for many of those who have been to both Kalapattar reckon that the one from Gokyo offers the better views. This high trek goes through the Sherpa land ascending the stunning Gokyo valley to the glacial lakes under the great peaks of Cho-Oyu the fourth highest peak in the world. The highlight of the trek is ascent of 5340m Gokyo RI, from where we gain panoramic views of Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, and Makalu, Cho-Oyu, Gyanchungkang and great Ngozumpa glacier. Above all the sunsets are unforgettable from here.
We have designed a sensible acclimatization program, which is essential if heading to Gokyo valley the helicopter rescue pilots call it death valley because many people go up very fast, partly because walking days are short, tempting trekkers to go past their acclimatization. The program also engage a hike to the fifth lakes for a view that is more extensive than from Gokyo RI and Kalapattar`
