Situated on the edge of the famous Khumbu region, Mera Peak is the highest trekking peak (peaks IN Nepal has been catagoize has trekking peak and expedition peaks) in Nepal, climbable by people with lesser mountaineering experience. Mera is a technically straightforward climb however, the heavy snow and the maze of crevasses can make the way longer to the summit. Besides the charm of climbing Mera Peak, the trek to its base camp from Lukla is rewarding for experiencing little-visited and as yet un-spoilt region of Nepal with densely forested hillsides. The participants need to be fit and conversant with the use of an ice-axe and crampons. Instruction in the use of ice axe and practice to walk on with boots and crampons will be given at base camp near theMera La if required. It is possible for a fit party to reach the summit and return to base camp in one day, in good conditions. But we complete the expedition in two stage BC and high camp at 5,800m on the Mera Glacier, in order to have an easier & short summit day. There are many approaches to base camp, but we take the route via Piuyan on our approach to base camp for better acclimatization avoiding cross of Chetrabu la at very next day of you trek. The climb itself takes the north face glacier in a steady rise to the summit ridge which leads, in an exposed and exciting situation, to the top. After the mountain has been climbed, we return by a direct route across a dramatic ridge to Lukla and the flight to Kathmandu. View from Mera peak is the most rewarding panorama that no other trip can offer. It provides glorious views ofKanchenjunga and Makalu to the east and Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse to the North and to the west appears Amadablam, Kangtaiga and Cho-oyu. A point of taking one of the finest panoramas of the Himalayas with the views of more than five 8000 meters peaks.
